Spending years involved in gymnastic, high impact aerobics, step classes and running took a tool on her body. After being told after knee surgery that if she want to walk she needed to stop all high impact exercises including running. She started walking but this did not give her the same benefit, especially of calming her mind. She alway felt that she need her body to be forced past its limits to recieve benefits from exercise. One 4 th of July about 7 yrs ago her niece took her to her first hot yoga classes. She was hooked!!! Yoga gave her the physical challenge along with mental cleaning that she received from running.
Wanting to advance her practice she decided to take yoga training. She had no real interest in teaching but was encouraged by her instructor Domonique. As an instructor she realized that she could share her love of yoga with others as well as inspire yogis to their next level of practice. With a background of a cardiac nurse Karen knows the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
Karen completed her 200 hour RYT in 2018. She is continuing to deepen her practice and grow as a teacher with another 300 hours RYT that will be competed in February of 2020.
Yoga has become more than just a physical practice to her but a lifestyle. She has fallen in love with the practice but even more so with the people that inspire her as much as she inspires them.
